1. Have one member of your group create a Google Doc entitled "Group Business Plan Discussion."
2. Share it with your teammates AND Mr. Alpert (Look up "Mike Alpert" after you click the "Share" button).
3. Review the roles below and have an online discussion about who would best be suited for each role. By the end of Thursday's class, you must make a final decision about who will fill each role. Please make the role assignments clear in the Google Doc. If you have fewer than five people in your group, delete one roll. The "Manager" roll cannot be deleted.
Researcher: Enjoys finding data and facts, has access to the internet, considers themselves to be “tech savvy.” Will probably work closely with the Writer.
Writer/Presenter: Enjoys compiling data and facts, considers themselves to be a strong writer. Enjoys creating documents and presentations. Will probably work closely with the Researcher and Marketer.
Marketer: Enjoys art and creating compelling visuals. Also may enjoy creating logos, packaging, posters, commercials and/or graphs and charts. Will probably work closely with researcher and writer.
Accountant/Number-Cruncher: Loves math! Feels comfortable figuring out ratios and using basic Algebra. Has experience creating charts and graphs and can explain numbers to those that may be less excited about math. Will probably work closely with researcher.
Manager: Can work well with all sorts of people, even group members that can be “difficult” at times. This individual understands that managing and leading is NOT telling people what to do, but figuring out how they can help others accomplish their goals. This person stays calm under pressure and is very organized. Will work closely with everyone.
4. After you've elected all members of your group, everyone in the group should read this article carefully.
5. Each person should write three interesting things they learned from the article in the group Google Doc. Feel free to comment on your teammates insights.
6. Finally, create a new Google Doc entitled "Group Idea Proposal." Share it with all of your teammates AND Mr. Alpert.
7. As a group, develop three "problems" and three "solutions" that could be turned into a product or service business plan. Each problem description should be at least 3-4 sentences and each solution should be about the same length. Edit them as a group and create a finished product by the end of class on Friday.
